Oldest Greek passes away at the age of 112!


The oldest Greek passed away at the age of 112. His name was Theodoros Masouras and he was farmer from profession. His hobby was writing poetry.

He was from a village in Ileia, Western Peloponesse and had moved to Achaia years ago.

During his long life he witnessed the most important events of the modern Greek history, both the World War I and II.

He was a widower and struggled to raise his five children alone.

He was careful with his diet and had no serious health problems until 2015. During the last year of his life he was bed-ridden. However, he kept writing poems.

He had eight brothers, the majority of them died at the age between 90 and 104.
